Winner! Announcing Bayside’s Best Dad for 2026!

In the community

This Father’s Day, we set out to find Bayside’s Best Dad - and our local community certainly made the decision difficult.

We received some incredibly heartfelt nominations celebrating the dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures who make family life that little bit more special.

There were dads who can fix anything, dads who spend their weekends coaching sport, renovating homes or firing up the BBQ, and plenty who have mastered the art of a truly terrible dad joke.

But more than anything, the nominations were filled with stories of dads who simply show up for their families, day after day.

So Many Dads Worth Celebrating

Choosing just one Bayside’s Best Dad wasn’t easy. Every nomination gave us a glimpse into the people behind the photos - the dads, grandads and father figures who make an enormous difference to their families in all sorts of ways.

Denis
Nominated by Danica, Denis is the dad who puts his family first - including cooking dinner so Mum can enjoy some well-earned time to herself. Add plenty of silliness and laughter, even on the difficult days, and it’s easy to see why his family is so grateful for him.

Robbie
If the kids are wondering where Dad is, chances are the answer is Bunnings! Robbie has transformed the family home with his DIY skills, tackling everything from the bathroom and kitchen to doors and the garage - all while saving towards making the kids’ dream of having a pool a reality.

Martin
Martin was nominated for something every parent can appreciate: seemingly endless patience. Even a “quick trip to Bunnings” with his little helper can become an hour-long adventure - particularly when that helper has some very important opinions!

Ralph
Ralphie is the Pop who is always there to lend a hand, whether that means laying turf, fixing a roof or doing a tip run. But it’s the wheelbarrow rides, silly pants, undies on heads and unmistakable love for his grandkids that make him so special.

Lucas
Lucas was nominated on behalf of his two-year-old daughter after stepping up to care for his little girl while supporting his wife through a health scare - all while continuing to work full-time. He’s also never short of a dad joke or a little silliness to keep his family laughing.

Samuel
Dad to “three naughty babies”, Samuel earned his nomination with plenty of love - and his commitment to a classic dad joke. His entry even came complete with a favourite: What is brown and sticky? A stick!

Luke
Four-year-old Amy summed up her nomination beautifully: “He always tickles me and I just love him.” Mum describes Luke as their family hero - always looking after them, telling jokes and being silly.

Ben
A wonderful dad and now Opa to three grandchildren, Ben was nominated for a lifetime of being supportive, encouraging and loving. No matter how busy life gets, he continues to show up for his family.

Nathan
From catching waves and bike rides to Lego creations and the biggest theme-park rides, Nathan is the dad Lachlan wants beside him for every adventure. He’s also apparently the household expert in replacing toy batteries - and giving the best kisses and cuddles.

Chris
Chris doesn't watch his boys' childhood from the sidelines - he gets right in amongst it. Whether he’s pulling ridiculous faces, starting a wrestling match or turning an ordinary moment into an adventure, he’s making sure their childhood is filled with fun and memories.

Corey
To Jace, Corey is simply “the best daddy in the world.” He helps coach and manage his football team, plays Call of Duty with him and, most importantly, gives the best cuddles.

Nathan
With a one-year-old at home, Nathan has spent the past year balancing renovations at his own home and Grandma and Grandpa’s with being a hands-on dad. Despite everything on his plate, he makes time for little Ethan and is determined not to miss those precious first milestones.

William
At 75, William continues to show up for his children and grandchildren. Despite recent health challenges, he still makes time to play with his grandkids and make sure they know just how loved they are.

Robert
Robert’s nomination celebrates not only the dad he is, but the example he has set for generations of his family. A passionate volunteer with a generous spirit, he has taught his children and grandchildren the importance of kindness, community and caring for others.

Congratulations to David - Bayside’s Best Dad!

After reading through all of the wonderful entries - we’re delighted to crown David Nicholls as Bayside’s Best Dad for 2026!

Nominated by Nicole, David is a dad who always puts his family first. Working long hours, six days a week, he makes sure Mum and the kids never go without - and when the weekend comes around, he’s still the one behind the smoker, cooking his famous sausages and burgers for everyone to enjoy.

Nicole told us that David deserves to win something just for himself after spending so much of his time providing for and looking after his family - and that really resonated with us.

It was a nomination that captured exactly what this competition was about: recognising the everyday things our dads and father figures quietly do for their families, often without expecting anything in return.

Congratulations, David - we hope you enjoy your prize!

As our Bayside’s Best Dad winner, David will receive our Father’s Day prize pack, including
🏌️ Round of Golf for Two (18 holes + cart) at Minnippi Golf & Range
🥩 $100 voucher from The Butcher Shoppe in Cannon Hill
🔨 $50 Bunnings Gift Card
🍺 $50 BWS Gift Card
🍖 BBQ Accessory Pack (including drinks bucket, grill tray, grill brush, bbq tool set & meat thermometer).

We hope he enjoys every bit of it!

Happy Father’s Day from SOLD Property Group

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate someone special.

While there can only be one Bayside’s Best Dad for 2026, every nomination reminded us that being a great dad or father figure isn’t about grand gestures.

It’s the school runs and sporting sidelines. The things that mysteriously get fixed. The dinners cooked after a long day. The questionable jokes. The adventures, cuddles, encouragement and countless little moments that become part of a family’s story.

From all of us at SOLD Property Group, Happy Father’s Day to all of the wonderful dads, grandads and father figures across our Bayside community.

We hope you enjoy your day - you’ve earned it.
